We believe that small, timely grants can unlock meaningful research, especially for individuals and independent researchers working close to the ground. A modest amount of funding can enable fieldwork, pilot studies, data collection, equipment purchases, travel to research sites, or exploratory experiments that might otherwise never happen.
We’re offering micro-grants to support short-term research projects focused on nature, environment, and conservation science. This includes (but is not limited to) work related to biodiversity, ecology, wildlife conservation, climate resilience, environmental monitoring, traditional ecological knowledge, and human–nature relationships.
If ₹50,000 or less can meaningfully advance your research or conservation project, we’d love to hear from you. This grant is open to students, early-career researchers, independent practitioners, and curious minds working outside formal institutions.
Each year, we aim to support 24 researchers (12 women and 12 men) whose work shows curiosity, rigour, and genuine care for the natural world.
Applications are reviewed every month. If selected, you’ll hear from us within four weeks of applying. If you don’t hear back, you’re welcome to apply again after three months, especially if your project has evolved.
If ₹50,000 can help you ask better questions of the natural world, gather crucial data, or take your conservation research one step further, apply below.
PS: This grant is open only to Indian citizens. If you’re based in the US, you may want to explore the Justin Mares Inflection Grant, which inspired this India-focused initiative.
